We're Reading Across America!

Hi friends! At school our teachers are starting to talk about Read Across America Day. The purpose of this really cool holiday is to celebrate reading and it is always on March 2 – Dr. Seuss’s birthday! A long time ago some grown-ups found out that encouraging kids to read would actually help them do better in school, so they created Read Across America Day and celebrated it for the first time on March 2, 1998. We’re reading books with our classes at school, but we’re also reading some books at home with our family. These are “If I Ran the Zoo” by Dr. Seuss and “Adventure to Planet Mars” by Carole Marsh. Have You Ever Stayed in a Jail?

Hey Mystery Solvers, Did you know the anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo is coming up? The Battle of the Alamo was part of the Texas Revolution. It took place from February 23 to March 6 in 1836. The Alamo is actually still standing in what is now San Antonio, TX! This is one of the most popular tourist sites in Texas. Mimi and Papa took me to visit one time over spring break! Oh yeah, Grant came along too. I’m already counting down to spring break this year… When we got to San Antonio we went first to check in at our hotel. It was so cool!
